So uh, first of all, huge request:

RECOMMEND ME SOME BOOKS. I work at the library now, and being around all of the books is giving me crazy nostalgic feelings... like, I used to love reading more than life back in elementary/beginning of middle school, and I miss that. So yeah. I want people to recommend some books.

Things to keep in mind: Harry Potter = the only thing I read currently. I'd love some good fiction, but I don't really want it to be from the adult section, because, as one of my coworkers brilliantly put into words for me: "Adult fiction is both boring and pretentious." Yes. I want something whimsical and fantastic, from the teen/young adult section, perhaps. (:

I WANT TO USE MAH BIBLIOTHEQUE CARD lol.

Speaking of books, I totally am like the pimp of the nation for being able to find the 10th issue of Gravitation for $1.80 TOTAL- free shipping, bitches. Brand new. Haha. <3 Now if only I could find some good buys for issues 11 and 12. Rawr.

SO LIKE THE MOST AWESOME NEWS EVER. There is a strongly approved rumor going around that AI on Idol Gives Back week is having a wildcard voting for an 11th spot in the tour- anyone booted so far that isn't in the top 10 already can be voted back in to go on the tour with the top ten. MOST PEOPLE SEEM TO BE LOOKING TO VOTE FOR DANNY. This is good... and bad. Good because DANNY. Bad because... I really don't want to have to sit there and go "do I spend $40 (or however much for the venue nearest me) to go see Danny? Or wut?" Bllaaahhh JUST PUT HIM BACK ON THE SHOW. :P

I have tomorrow off because it's Good Friday, and my parents are like "WE'RE GOING OUT TOMORROW!" so yay! I dunno what we're gonna do (they don't either, lol, watch us not go anywhere because we have no idea what to do with ourselves), but I'm excited to have the day off a whole whole lot. :D

OH I GOT PAID BITCHES. Dude, $219 (after taxes) for one week of 20 hours. It took me two weeks working 30 (that's sixty hours- three times as much!!) to get that at Hobby Lobby, AND I hated that job. Seriously, so great.

I got my nametag at work today; Kelly kept going "YOU'RE LEGAL NOW!" lol. I was like "Uhhh... XDD" A lady my mamaw used to work with (for those of you that don't know, the library I am working at now was the library my mamaw worked at for YEARS before she finally retired) that has retired already came in to the library today. It was cool, she was like "You won't remember me, but I actually worked with your mamaw!" Haha, it was funny, I guess she used to see me a lot in the library when I was little. XD I was amused. Oh, and I saw Aimee today- damn, I haven't seen her since like the day I graduated, I think. I freaked out a little, haha. :D I miss Aimee- she's always been cool. <3 So it was like, neat to catch up with her... and make her buy a new library card and stuff, lol.

Anyway, I think that's all I have to talk about right now... I should go to sleep! <3 PLEASE TO BE RECOMMENDING BOOKS KTHNX. <3 luv.

First of all, Amanda was robbed, buuuuut whatever, like she wanted to go waste her life on the AI tour, lol. She'll do fine, I ain't upset.

Second, though- I was reading through [livejournal.com profile] americanidol and found a pic of Jason Castro pre-dreds.

Hello. I knew he was good looking anyway (definitely not ashamed to say I dig feminine looking guys at all), but... hello. XD LOL.

Oh yeah, it feels silly to mention it here since I don't really get to talk to her at all anymore, but apparently my old friend Jessica, who is an Aggie, had a class with Jason and rode the bus with him last semester. She's actually spoken with him, haha, and was in an awkward situation with him too (ah, awkwardness is so appropriate for Jason too, lol). Iunno, I thought that was cool info. XD

[ EDIT: I just realized I'm attracted to boys who have relatively the same haircut as me. YOU HAVE TO HAVE PRETTY HAIR OKAYS. LOL this makes me laugh. ]

La la la.

New icon. This is now my wtf/surprised/shocked icon. Yes, all of my icons have emotional roles. YOU HAVE TO BE VERY CHOOSY WHEN YOU ONLY HAVE SIX (I almost typed sex, lol, freudian slip) ICON SPACES HOKAY? I want moar so bad but I'm sure as fuck not paying for a paid account. I still think it's a crock of shit that you have to buy a paid account just to be able to pay the extra $5 to update your account with 100 icons. I'd pay the five in a heartbeat, but fuck paying for a paid account- I don't need it!

But yes, the world always needs moar Danny love. <3

Also, I'd just like to tell everyone that I loooooove my job. Working at the library is like a Ravenclaw wetdream, for srs. It's fantastic, and I couldn't ASK for better coworkers. If I do not make it into Sheridan this year, this will most definitely soften the blow. It doesn't hurt that I'm getting paid well, either... :D I have tomorrow off, so I'm just gonna chill out here at the hacienda, I suppose. WOW firefox spellcheck doesn't underline hacienda as an incorrect word- does it recognize Spanish? Did not know that.

I want to keep babbling on, but it is very apparent that I have nothing to talk about, so I guess I'll leave it here. XD Hmm, I could go sort at [livejournal.com profile] platform_934 and [livejournal.com profile] diffindo_elite, I suppose. American Idol craziness plus starting my new job has made me very late this week. ... hey wait, wasn't I supposed to get stamped at [livejournal.com profile] diffindo_stamp today? XDDDD I'm gonna be getting a Luna stamp. <3 This warms my heart. I was actually told that I'm one of the very few true Lunas in the world (it was Sam that said that I think, right? Its been like half a week since I last checked). That was such a huge honor to me, lol.

OH OH OH. I've been talking about this over at [livejournal.com profile] danny_bois today, so I completely forgot to mention it here, but Danny was on the Ellen DeGeneres show today.

The interview is cute (lol I love how he struts out there), but if you're not a fan, at least let it load and then fastforward to him singing (Superstar, again). Seriously, it's fantastic- it's so much better than what we saw on Idol. I HATE that they kicked him off- he was just coming into everything; I guarantee we would have seen more serious performances from him. The next Sanjaya my ASS- this boy can SING. I hate to use it again at the risk of it being totally OVERused, but sereiously... Danny = TMTH for AI.

I know I'm posting a lot about Danny lately. (: Sorry, I guess. Keep scrollin' if it bothers you, I suppose.

OKAY NOW I IS SHUTTING UP BYES.

American Idol was so entertaining tonight. LOL. Chikezie was a riot- I'm glad he pulled his personality out of a hat finally. Between that Taylor Hicks reminiscent performance and the fact that he and Danny are apparently friends (he called Danny while Danny was chatting on stickam Sunday), I'm thinkin' he's cool and I'm over them making it appear like they were sending him through instead of Danny, lol. Amanda was awesome; always like Amanda, even when she sucks, lol (but she didn't tonight). She's just badass. And everyone is like "OMG KRISTY AHHHH I'M DYING" at her performance, but lol my household was LAUGHING SO HARD. omg everyone is being so serious about how Lennon and McCartney are rolling over in their graves, but holy shit, if I were them I'd have just laughed. She seriously sounded like something straight off of a Beatles country-western parody album. It was HILARIOUS if you remind yourself not to take it too seriously, lol.

Everyone else was pretty forgettable (sept maybe Brooke- I liked her performance)- I really wanted to like Ramiele's performance, especially after dedicating it to Danny (oh and her other friends that got kicked off, I suppose- mostly Danny, though!), but it was kinda boring. Then again, she got stuck singing behind Chikeze's crazy performance, so that was some pretty bad luck.

Oh, and David forgetting the lyrics = FINALLY A MESS UP. God yes.

LOL does anyone else forget half of the people that are on the show until they start singing? I swear I'm like "Oh yeah, this person.... forgot about you." LOL Danny has had me so distracted. I forgot that there were other people on AI. IT WAS THE DANNY NORIEGA SHOW BITCHES. Speaking of- they didn't show him tonight! Blah, I know for a fact he was there for Ramiele! Unfair.

But yeah. LOL my opinion is so different from the people's on [livejournal.com profile] americanidol. I should just go ahead and join votefortheworst and forget about normal communities; I've had the same opinion as them all year long so far... sept I don't hate Carly with a vengeance, lol. I couldn't go over there and pretend I hated her either, so blah. The only thing I hate is the fact that people keep going "OMG SHE HAS A RECORD DEAL!" God STFU people we know. Getting ON with our lives... geez.

But yeah. Tonight was entertaining. Haha. I WAS DEFINITELY IMPRESSED CONSIDERING DANNY WAS NOT THERE. Whoo!

you are lavenderblush
#FFF0F5

Your dominant hues are red and magenta. You love doing your own thing and going on your own adventures, but there are close friends you know you just can't leave behind. You can influence others on days when you're patient, but most times you just want to go out, have fun, and do your own thing.

Your saturation level is very low - you have better things to do than jump headfirst into every little project. You make sure your actions are going to really accomplish something before you start because you hate wasting energy making everyone else think you're working.

Your outlook on life is very bright. You are sunny and optimistic about life and others find it very encouraging, but remember to tone it down if you sense irritation.

*gags because it's from spacefem.com, though* Damn feminists, lol.

BTW, AI tonight? Colton = ROBBED! :/

Here's what I thought about the guys tonight on American Idol. These are just quick:

Hey, I put it behind a nice cut for all you people that either hate AI or don't live in America, check me out. XD )

Don't get used to this. I was very bored, lol.
kaoru: (bigger than my body)
I'm not sure what's going on. It's 4AM and I'm still awake... Tonight, I had an artistic revelation. I don't know; does that ever happen to anyone? Like, you're in a rut, and all of a sudden, it just hits you. It smacked me tonight in life drawing. I was actually dreading going because I've been lacking motivation to do anything but sleep and watch anime lately... I spent the whole drive to class singing and pondering what medium to use (paint or charcoal? Charcoal is what I'm a pro at, and it lends itself better to my practicing for animation school, but I painted for the first time last time and had a lot of fun, plus my professor seems to like the idea of me using paint since I apparently use painting techniques when I use my charcoal). When I parked, I gave up and decided to go the easy route with charcoal so I wouldn't have to clean paintbrushes.

I was rather bored after our warm-up gesture sketches, and then we got a 30 minute pose... I'm standing there checking my watch and groaning because it's only 6:45 and the class ends at 9. I was in the middle of drawing a gesture of our model's pose in eraser on the charcoal ground I had laid on my paper when it HIT me- draw STYLIZED. Work on my CARTOONING skills. Oh God, it was amazing. I completely erased what I was doing and started over, molding proportions to something animation friendly. It was brilliant, I like, rediscovered myself. That's what I did the rest of the night, and I just left feeling really proud of myself (which is a big deal for me, because if I don't feel proud, I can't do anything at all). I'm actually submitting my two longer works from tonight to San Jac North's gallery tomorrow. Very happy with them. And everyone seemed pretty impressed- the guy standing next to me was mesmerized at my skills with facial expressions, heh. I hope he stands near me more often, actually- he's nice and an easy person to draw next to. Plus, he totally gets the whole 'drawing from cartoons' influence- he actually asked me if I read comics when he saw what I was drawing, and I was like "Er, sorta..." and he was like "Manga and anime?" and I was like "Yeah, actually. Haha, that's what I've been doing my whole life- I've been drawing forever, but I didn't get really serious until Pokemon came out." He thought it was funny. X3 He then pointed out that my cartooning style also carries some Disneyesque qualities, and I was like "Damn, you've just got me pinned, eh?" LOL, way to spot all my influences. X)

So yeah, iunno, I guess I must be artistically charged or something. That must be why I can't fathom sleeping at the moment. It's either that or because, after class, I was suffering from a MAJOR lack-of-caffeine headache, so I stopped by Starbucks on the way home to make myself happy again, lol. But I seriously doubt that's the cause- on a normal day, I can fall asleep after drinking a Frappucino. Caffeine has no effect on my state of awakeness, and sugar actually immediately puts me to sleep, sooo yeah.

Jesus, I think I'm beginning to figure out why I like American Idol. I'm not exactly that up to date or knowledgeable when it comes to the music scene, but with AI, it's like, I get a new taste every week. Granted, a lot of the junk that everyone sings I have no interest in, but there's always at least one person every week whose song intrigues me (whether I've heard it before and am going "Oh yeah, I like that song, I should download it!" or I'm hearing it for the first time and going "WOW, I need that song"). Having new songs at my fingertips is very nice- I've let in so little variety of music in my lifetime, but now it's like, I'm hungry for something new to me, and this fulfills that well- my artistic inspiration and the way I feel about music tend to go hand in hand (ie, if a song charges me, I can draw, but if I'm bored of everything I have, I'm good for nothing), so this works well for me. All that aside, I just like watching the show to judge peoples' singing, lol. Geez this week had a bunch of good songs, though. My favs are definitely Jordin's "I (Who Have Nothing)" and Gina's "Paint It Black" (the studio version= great). ^_^ Mwah.

Hm, okay, I think I'll try to force myself to sleep now. I'm gonna lay down with my iPod and watch an episode of Ouran High School Host Club. ^^ I'm rewatching the series now at a more objective standpoint- I'm particularly paying close attention to the twins (or, if they'd prefer, Hikaru and Kaoru, since I know they'd say "there's nobody here named 'the twins'" hehe. X3 brats) to try and get their differences down. Fascinating. Gosh I love studying other peoples' character development.

Nite.

Ugh.

I HATE the people that come bother us about the truck we have in our driveway. We have like, a little '93 Ford pickup, and like EVERY DAMN WEEK there's some Mexican knocking on our door wanting to know if we want to sell it (and yes, it's always Mexicans- the people in our neighborhood are lazy and won't do their own lawn work, so the reason they want the truck is to tote around their stupid mowers and crap).

Okay:

A- DOES IT SAY FOR SALE ON IT?! Uhhhh, if it doesn't, I'd pretty much take that as WE DON'T WANT TO SELL IT
B- DOES OUR DRIVEWAY LOOK LIKE A DAMN USED CAR LOT TO YOU?!

Auuuuggghhh I can't STAND it. We're not selling the freaking TRUCK, you MORONS. I'm tempted to take the note I found on the window today when I stepped outta my car, call the number on it, and harrass the guy. "If Pedro couldn't have it, and neither could Juan, then you can't EITHER, Jose!" Shiza. We needa put a NOT for sale sign on it. Do they even freaking make those? Maybe we just need a sign on the door that says "If you're here about the truck, GTFO." LOL, blah.

In other news (American Idol related again), what the hell, why all of a sudden is everyone singing Chris Richardson's praises? He dances like he's got Turrets (though not quite as bad as Leslie, lol, she's scary) and his singing is, at best, mediocre. He's completely unmemorable, save for the fact that he looks like Justin Timberlake. And if there's already one, why do we need a carbon copy in the music industry? GROW SOME SENSE, AMERICA.

Okay, Savannah= the cutest dog ever. Savannah > your dog. LOL, I love her, she's sooo cute. <3 She's 'talking' to me right now (AKA barking and whining and flapping her lips, trying to get me to let her outside). LOL it's adorable.

Wow, okay, I have to go. Blah, band. SCHOOL IS LAME. ):

Whee.

American Idol was pretty much the most boring thing ever tonight. People are saying the guys did better tonight than last week, but with that BORING of a line up, I can honestly say I didn't really notice. Stop picking slow songs you freaking MORONS and do something that's EXCITING. Sheesh. I will give Blake props, though- I got really excited when he threw his beatboxing in. I was hoping he'd do that!

Okay, so in other news, I am totally Gravitation obsessed these days. Every other song I listened to today was "Sleepless Beauty." LOL, I -love- that song. DAMN I wish I knew Japanese, because if I did, I'd already know it word for word! As it were, though, I have to learn the song syllable by syllable, so it takes longer, lol. And I mess up and adlib a looot. I look like a moron. But I still sing to it when I'm alone. X3

I got volumes 1 and 3 of the manga last night (I already had 2 from the week previous- I needed 1 before I started reading). I already read them, lol... I finished at about 3:00 PM today. And I was trying REALLY hard to savor them too, lol. I left for school early today (hell, the internet wasn't working, what else was I supposed to do?) so that I could run by Fairmont Parkway to see if wishing volume 4 was there hard enough would cause it to miraculously appear on the shelf, since it wasn't there last night. Sadly, reality ain't just a word in the dictionary, so I walked right back outta Barnes and Noble, lol. Itching to spend cash I don't have on more Gravi stuff, I went to Best Buy (like, two stores down), thinking they had a big selection of DVD's, to see if they had the DVD's (I have the series downloaded, but according to the DVD descriptions, there's a dubbed version, which I want to own if only to see how it compares with the subtitles... plus, it's nice to not have to READ an anime, lol), but alas, everything BUT Gravitation was on their anime shelf, it seemed. @_@ Wtf? It was at that point I was wishing I was at Fry's Electronics, lol. They have TONS of anime DVD's- I'd bet my left leg they have Gravi.

After walking disappointedly out of Best Buy, I drove across the street to Target to see their Pokemon toys, but the Target on Fairmont is STILL hopelessly in love with Pikachu, as that seems to be all they EVER have merchandise of. And I think my Pokemon card hype has finally died off, because I passed by the card racks and was like "... you know, I really don't need these..." (LOL, let's get real, it's because I want to buy Gravi manga nowww~). So amazingly I walked out of THREE stores without spending a single dollar, lol. After that, I went to Starbucks across the street (since that's originally what I told my mother I was leaving early for, lol) to use my christmas giftcard from Holly to buy myself a frappucino. So, I went to like all of my fav shops on Fairmont and didn't spend ANY cash at ALL today. o__o Weirdest thing EVER, lol. XD

So yeah, Gravi is love. I can't wait til Holly's DVD's are delivered to her, because once she watches the anime, then we can reaaalllyyy fangirl, haha. Oh having a new obsession to add to the list is so much FUN. <3

In other news, I have Biology tomorrow morning and that makes me REALLY sad, uuugh. Unfortunately, I need to get off- I'm already going to be getting a grand total of like 6 hours of sleep. Yaaay. Ugh I hate that class so much that it burns. Oyyy only 2 months and a few daysss... and then I can be out of it for gooood. They'll be the longest two months of my life. Seriously.
