kaoruSo like... it's really slow at work tonight. Not that I'm complaining; it's better than it being fast, because then I tend to accidentally look at people like they're crazy when it's their turn at the desk because I'm flustered, lol. Still though. I AM READY FOR MY DAY OFF. PLZZZZZ. I kinda hate the fact that all of my days off and all of my working days are stacked with each other- I mean, I get to where I need a day off or else I'll die, and then I'm off for like four days straight so that my social anxiety kicks in by the time I go back to work. YAY.
I've started reading Fruits Basket. I'm really not sure what I think about it. It's okay, but iunno... So far it almost kinda feels like I'm just endlessly being introduced to characters, and the author is hoping that I'll be like "Ohhh, ANOTHER member of the chinese zodiac! Cooool!" Yeah, well, I'm more like "FUCK, another character? I can hardly keep the other 20 straight; stop ADDING PEOPLE!" LOL. Seriously, I've already had to take a trip to wikipedia just to remember who I was reading about. Maybe I'm just dumb or something. I tend to have a hard time following manga anyway, though... it always feels so random that half the time I'm just like, reading it, half blank in my mind. There are lots of little distractions and tics that I tend to skim over. Thus, it takes me like 3 or 4 good readthroughs before I really understand the plot. I bet I'm the only person in the world who feels this way, lol. Anyway, I'm up to number 7 right now, and I've requested 8, 9, and 10 from the library. We'll see what happens. There are 19 of them, so maybe we're due to start digging deep in a few books... HERE'S HOPING.
I have many much commissions to catch up on. I got sick at like the worst time ever, I swear- it really threw me off. >> I needa at least finish the three Furcadia portraits and my ex BAND DIRECTOR'S REQUESTS before I can kinda calm down a little bit, lol. Buuuhhh.
I worked a lot on one of my commissions yesterday, so in order to wind down and get ready to sleep, I reformatted my user info. (: Yaaayyyy it's cuter and less ugly now! XD All of the stamps and claims were making things look cluttered, so I fixed them into a little table, yaay. XD LOL.
So yeah. Anyway. I've rambled about everything I can think of. I've successfully killed about fifteen minutes of time. XD Yay! Only 15 more til I can go home! *parties* Yeah. Laterr~.

Date: 2008-06-18 02:49 am (UTC)It does take a little while to get everybody introduced, I got that same feeling when I started reading it long ago. Dx But, I borrowed the anime from a friend and was kind of watching that at the same time so it helped me remember everyone better.
Once it gets going, it gets good. Then, the last few I've read (somewhere in the teens volume-wise) it kind of seemed to hit a plateau, and I was like 'meh, maybe I'll just stop reading'...but it's just starting to get good again, lol. I hear that as you get really close to the end then it gets really good (they've not all been released in america, though).
I promise it gets better. xD
